National Demonstration: Stop bombing Syria

We must campaign against the latest war which politicians have led us into. The decision by MPs to bomb Syria will not make the world a safer place. It will not stop terrorism. It is the fourth major military intervention by British governments in 14 years. But the previous wars – in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya – have not ended. Instead we have seen death and injury, instability across theose countries, and millions of people made refugees by war. We have also seen the growth of terrorism. ISIS itself grew out of the war and occupation in Iraq.

If we want to get rid of ISIS, which is causing so much misery to thepeople of the Middle East and elsewhere, then we need to stop our government’s allies such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia giving it support. We also need to camapign for peace across the Middle East, and for an end to outside intervention there.

Our politicans have learnt none of the lessons of previous wars. Instead, they repeat the same mistakes, hoping that something will change. In the mean time the casualties of these wars are increasing numbers of civilians.

Do everything you can to stop this bombing. Public opinion is moving against it. We need to get out on the streets, and show the government that they are not doing this in our name.

Assemble at Broadcasting House, Portland Place, W1A 1AA at Midday.

The Lox / D-Block – Jadakiss, Styles P & Sheek Louch Live In Concert!!

London England!! FDJ Concerts and P4Soul Present LOX/D-Block, The Trinity Tour!!! Frisky DJ crosses over the tracks to bring you his favourite rap group who celebrated 20 Years in the game. They’re back to celebrate 20 Years in Hip-Hop and what can only be described as some rap history with three of the realist rap ambassadors. They will take you back to the LOX beginning through their solo projects, D-Block hits then bring you up to date with The Trinity!! This is for all those who live, sleep and breath Hip-Hop with three of the best, don’t miss this one it’s one for your rap calendar.

In the summer of 1999, the celebrated Yonkers Rap trio the LOX found themselves in a fight for freedom. Disappointed with the direction of their career on Bad Boy, the group wanted to be released from their contract in order to join the newly formed Ruff Ryders/ Interscope label. The Ruff Ryders had always served as the Lox’s managers and the group felt like the new Double R label could better represent the hardcore sensibilities which they expressed in their rhymes. Bad Boy was known for its radio friendly dance hits and high priced videos, while the LOX were quickly establishing themselves as Hip-Hop’s rawest

Bonbonniere London Celebrates First Anniversary In Style with 50 Cent

Bonbonniere London Celebrates First Anniversary In Style with 50 Cent

Disco Inferno as 50 Cent hosts luxury Mayfair nightclub Bonbonniere’s 1st-year anniversary celebrations. Henry McIntosh was there to enjoy it. Oxford Street is no stranger to models, but generally those models are confined to posters within shop windows. Last week, hundreds of models descended on Oxford Street’s tributary Orchard Street. Not for a strike of the model’s union, but the first anniversary of luxury Mayfair nightspot Bonbonniere. The club, which is located opposite Selfridges, organised for the horde of models to take position and cause a roadblock across Orchard Street right around to the back of the famous department store. Causing quite a stir, the model stunt added a glamorous touch prior to the main event; a sold-out evening at Bonbonniere hosted by 50 Cent. The Candy Shop rapper was an apt choice for a club whose name roughly translates as ‘candy jar’ and revellers enjoyed partying with the rap royalty as champagne sparklers lit the Fabergé Egg-inspired interior of the club. The club’s owner, Joe Fournier, is also renowned for his antics at the Mykonnos Bonbonniere where he has hosted an array of A-list clientele from Paris Hilton and Nicole Scherzinger to Jamie Foxx and the Victoria’s Secret models. Bonbonniere is no stranger to such celebrity endorsements and appearances, and it’s fast becoming affiliated with a range of personalities in its three global venues. With another club to his name in New York, Fournier labels himself a ‘nightclub entrepreneur.’ He’s a rather good one too, having already drawn comparisons with Virgin magnate, Richard Branson. Unsurprisingly, London’s own incarnation of the club has quickly become a favoured nightspot for the capital’s rich and famous akin to its siblings. Idris Elba, Jourdan Dunn and Snoop Dogg, are but a few notable names who have previously attended. Appearances from A-Listers looks likely to be a trend that’s set to continue, especially after Bonbonniere won “Best New Nightclub” at the 2015 London Club and Bar awards. With a growing repute within the capital, Bonbonniere is well worth a visit. Bonbonniere London – Where and How? Bonbonniere London is located at 23 Orchard St, London W1H 6HL. Prince Cancels European Tour Following Paris Shootings

After big name acts like U2 and Foo Fighters pulled concert dates in the wake of the Paris attacks, Prince has followed suit.

The iconic singer canceled the remainder of his Prince Spotlight: Piano & A Microphone tour, which included 16 cities in Europe at the end of the month.

U2 ‘Devastated’ by Paris Shootings, Cancel HBO Concert

He broke the news on his timeline, tweeting a link to his French production company that prompted the message, “Due to the tragic events in Paris, the tour promoter has decided to postpone the upcoming European tour until further notice.”

The cancellations come after the horrific shootings that took place at the concert venue Le Bataclan in Paris on Friday night (Nov. 13) during an Eagles of Death Metal show. Over 100 lives were reportedly taken in the tragedy.

Big Daddy Kane is a Hip-Hop legend in every sense of the word. Starting his career in the mid-eighties as part of the Juice Crew (with Marley Marl, Biz Markie, Kool G Rap, MC Shan, Roxanne Shante, Masta Ace, Craig G, Tragedy and more), he has cemented himself as one of the most important and influential rappers of all time. Almost always listed in ‘best MCs of all time’ lists, your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper has released a long list of untouchable albums that include Long Live The Kane, It’s A Big Daddy Thing, Taste Of Chocolate and timeless singles like Ain’t No Half Steppin’, Raw, Smooth Operator, Warm It Up Kane, Wrath Of Kane and Set It Off.

Kane’s live shows are guaranteed to be live, direct and full of energy. Whilst still smooth and seamless, his stage presence is one of a veteran. As part of the Bigger Than Hip-Hop festival and 25 years of The Jazz Café, this is an opportunity not to be slept on.

Chip Shop Brixton gets ready to serve up ‘fish, chips and old skool hip-hop’

Liberally interspersing their excited tweets with hashtags like #hiphop #oldskool, Chip Shop Brixton are preparing to open up on the corner of Coldharbour Lane and Atlantic Road in Brixton.

The building – once home to the Black Cultural Archives and more recently Shaza Fried Chicken – has been given an impressive makeover by UK graffiti artist @Titlegraffiti, with several black cultural icons adorning theshutters and walls.

Brixton ten years ago - street scenes from May 2004

[Carlton Warren belts out The Message, Brixton, May 2004]

Run by the people from the Brixton Village Grill, we have to say that we’re not entirely sure how their message of “Old Skool Hip-Hop.. Positive Vibez Only” fits in with the concept of a chip shop, but we’ll certainly look forward to checking it out.

They’ve posted up some of their menu options on Twitter, and these include a ’10oz sirloin and chargrilled lobster’, ‘chargrilled tuna finished with an olive, caper and tomato relish’ and a ‘800g grilled red snapper, hand cut chips, rice, mixed salad, chilli lemon butter and dill sauce.’

That all sounds rather nice but does seem a world away (and most likely more expensive) than our favourite traditional chippie, the magnificent Jimmy’s Plaice some 300 metres down Coldharbour Lane.

Despite the business not being open yet, it has somehow managed to pick up 8 five star reviews on their Facebook which is quite an achievement.
